California Dreaming: Paul Jasmin
Before picking up a camera, Paul Jasmin worked as an illustrator, a painter and an actor. Now he focuses his time on capturing young bright beautiful things full of aspirations of making it in LA.
He is also a popular instructor at Art Center in Pasadena where he has mentored photographers Melodie McDaniel and Amanda DeCadenet and Sofia Coppola, a photographer and film maker who clearly has been inspired by Jasmin’s dreamy take on life and escapism. Jasmin says “California is an alluring place, but I look at Hollywood as a state of mind; it’s all in the imagination. You have to create your own reality; with work, with home and with friends.”
California Dreaming does exactly what it says on the tin. Soft and romantic, it leaves you longing for something more than what you have.
